Tell us a little bit about yourself
My name is Leanne and I have lived in Co. Donegal all my life. I’m married to my wonderful husband Henry.
What inspires you?
I love learning and trying new things. I’m always interested in new trends in particular with social media and weddings.
What is the best part about being a wedding stationery provider?
I love dealing with brides! They are at such a happy time in their lives and they are so enthusiastic about their wedding planning. They really appreciate the finished product and that makes the hard work worthwhile.
What makes you stand out from other wedding stationery provider out there?
Creative Invites offers handmade, letterpress and DIY wedding stationery I don’t think there are many others that have such a wide range of options. And that is all because we keep up to date with trends and what our couples are looking for.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
The most satisfying part of the job is when an order is finished and we’re packaging it up for delivery. So much work goes into an order and it is just great seeing the final product. Unfortunately as everything is sent by courier, I never get to see the customers’ reactions when they open the box but the texts, calls and emails from them are great to get.
What’s your working day or week like?
Long! I usually work 12 hour days and at weekends but that’s just the way it is when you have your own business.
What’s the most unusual request you’ve ever had?
We recently did a GAA wedding invitation’ for a couple. It was a quirky invitation in the style of a match ticket with a tear off stub as the RSVP card. We love getting requests for unique designs.
What is the best piece of advice you would give to couples planning their wedding?
Do the best you can with the resources you have. Don’t compromise quality just to keep costs down. Your wedding is a once in a lifetime event.
