Our beautiful couple today first met in the bank where groom, Daniel worked. “We first met in February 2009. Daniel was working in the bank in Ballyshannon and I had been in doing my daily banking for my employer. After serving me on several occasions we got to know each other better and it developed from there,” explained Yvonne.

Six years on Daniel planned a very personal proposal on Christmas day. “Daniel proposed at my mothers graveside. He had travelled to Strandhill on Christmas day evening but he tricked me into believing that he had to delivery a Christmas present in Sligo town to get me away from my family. On the way into town Daniel pulled into the graveyard and popped the question,” added Yvonne.

Yvonne knew instantly she wanted a classic and elegant wedding day surrounded by her family and friends in a local location. Together they visited several wedding fairs and a number of hotels to discuss wedding packages. “Once we met the the wedding planner in the Radisson Sligo, I knew right away this was the venue,” she added.

On Friday 10th March, Yvonne skipped into her gorgeously elegant bridal gown from Kadee Bridal in Athlone. The sophisticated gown perfectly represented the timeless feel the couple both wanted for their wedding day. With her maids in soft lilac dresses, Daniel and his groomsmen wore fresh navy-blue three piece suits along with ivory ties and crisp white shirts.

“We were married in St Patricks Church, Strandhill, Co Sligo and the day went brilliantly. The hotel staff couldn’t have been any more helpful which meant we could relax and enjoy the day. We throughly enjoyed our day with family and friends, arriving at the hotel as husband and wife was a highlight for both Daniel and I,” said Yvonne.

Yvonne’s Advice

Plan, Plan & Plan! Get as much done as early as possible and do not be afraid to offload jobs to family and friends who you know will get things done. Don’t stress and enjoy the build up to your day, everything falls into place and you should take it all in and dance the nite away.
