What is a Civil Partnership?

A civil partnership is Ireland’s formal legal recognition of same-sex relationships. It is a way for same-sex couples to pledge their love and commitment to each other, in a meaningful and legally binding way.

Civil Partnerships began in Ireland on January 1, 2011, following the signing of the Civil Partnership and Certain Rights and Obligations of Cohabitants Act in 2010.  Read more…

Some Wedding Stats from Irish Wedding Survey 2011
