The spend on weddings and civil partnerships is a popular topic of conversation in Ireland. Last week we brought you the results of Irish Wedding Survey 2012 and this week, we thought it would interesting to look at the data again in the form of an infographic. The big takeaway is that despite the recession, couples are still willing to spend a sizeable amount of money to tie the knot.

Many people will comment that it is very possible to do the whole thing on a shoestring. This is very true but the reality is that there are plenty of couples in Ireland prepared to invest a lot of their hard earned money to create the perfect wedding day of their dreams. mrs2be.ie estimates that the Irish wedding industry is worth between €500 million and €1 billion annually.

Today we publish the results of Irish Wedding Survey 2012, a wedding and civil partnership survey conducted by mrs2be.ie in conjunction with Annie Byrne of Aislinn Events.

Have you thought of  DIYing some of your wedding and putting your own stamp on it?

Having secured the church and venue for his wedding and organised the photographer & music, it was time for our blogging groom-to-be BluefishJD to start looking at tackling the rest of his wedding checkist. His creative flair and being a graphic designer meant that DIYing part of their wedding was part of the plan.
