I'm in love with a dress!! Ordered my dress in Aibheil in Adare, they were so helpful! They have amazing dresses!
I have always wanted a Pronovias dress since I saw the website and that's what I got!
I always thought I'd go for the fishtail because I'm petite yet curvy and that slim shape just suits me. But when I tried them on I just didn't feel "bridey" enough, odd I know! I tried on a princess style ballgown and I fell in love with it! Never what I imagined I'd do!
Now I'm just nervous because I don't want people thinking I look over the top, because I have a long cathedral Spanish veil with a lace edge too and my friends were telling me to go for a fishtail gown to show off the figure. Help! One of the girls that saw it afterwards said it was like a Barbie dress, I think she meant it as a compliment but it's made me worry!! I don't want anyone to think I look like Jordan or anything in a big gown! Here's the dress below, I love it but is it too much? My mom loves it too and she says not to worry what people say.
I'm probably just worrying unnecessarily am I?

It's beautiful... Just like mine if its what you love and what you want then don't worry about anyone else!!! I tried on other styles of dress too but nothing compared to how I felt when I was in a princess style dress!!

So I know how you feel... I was worried about people thinking its OTT etc... But it's beautiful and I felt great in it... So to hell with what other people think... I got it

So as I said before if YOU love it and feel comfy in it... That is all that matters!!

Your mum's right; don't worry about what anyone else says. You're the one wearing the dress, no-one else. So long as you feel comfortable and happy with it, that's fine.

Oh XmasKisses I went through the same ordeal myself. Not the dress I thought I'd get but I love it and was so worried that people wouldn't like it. Like yours it's a bit more out or princess like as you say than what I thought I would have. After trying it on loads of times and talking to my sisters I realise that it really doesn't matter what other people think at all. If you're comfortable in it and you love it (it sure sounds like you do) well then that's all that matter. You'll be stunning!

Oh its beautiful hun, i tried on this style n i loved it but my mam said it was terrible on me so i havnt tried one on since!! I loved aibheil, the girls are fantastic and the dresses are amazing. love the idea of the spanish veil

It is STUNNING!! Very similar to mine and like you, everyone expects me to be in a slimfitting dress or a fishtail dress and to be totally honest I expected those dresses to suit me too!! When I tried them on, they did nothing for me and made me look like I had no figure and it was the lady in the shop that persuaded me to try on a ballgown and I fell in love with it immediately!! I feel like a total princess in mine and am even more excited to know how many people will be so shocked when they see me!!! Thats the best part! You only get once to feel so special so why not and as one lady said to me - "if you can dye the dress black and wear it to a party its not the dress for you!!!!!!!!!!" SO TRUE IN MY EYES!!!!

So true!! I didn't want something that made me feel I could nearly wear it to a ball or Christmas party, I wanted an oldschool fairytale bridal gown!
