Disaster

Disaster

Postby Piratefairy87 » Mon May 07, 2012 6:53 pm

Well my wedding dress was collected on saturday and is now at home. I was so excited to have my friends come over that night and see it. I tried it on and i could have cried, the fit is perfect as all the alterations have been done but there are threads hanging out around the beading design on the bust of the dress and also on the back. And i mean long threads that are obvious. And as well as this theres a mark on the side of the dress where it looks like the material was rubbed too harshly to clean it. The shop steam cleaned it before it was collected and i can only assume the dress was damaged when they were doing it. Nobody noticed any of these problems when i was trying the dress on in the shop before so im convinced the damage was done in the cleaning process. My mother is ringing the shop in the morning to tell them and demand they fix it (sometimes im not as angry as i should be with people so its better my mother rings, plus im upset about the whole thing and i would probably cry on the phone) The thing is i bought the dress on sale and even though the dress was perfect when i bought it im worried the shop might say it was a risk i took when i bought it. ( i hope i make sense) any advice???

Aw no that is awful. Id be the same and would need someone to really go mad at them. But when it was perfect when you bought it, id definately be ringing them and insisting on them repairing it. I could live with the threads as thats easy fixed but not the stain. That is awful. Sorry not more help hun but definiately right in going back to get it repaired. Even if they do play the on sale card, you wouldntve bought it with the stain so just insist on that.

Well my mam rang the shop this morning and the first thing the woman said was that it was a risk i took when buying the dress on sale. My mother was quick with her response though and pointed out that i wouldnt have bought the dress if i had seen the damage and also that 4different people have seen the dress on me in the shop and the damage was not seen by them. And believe me you cant miss those big long threads hanging out of the dress. So the woman in the shop said she would ring back later, and sure enough 15mins later she rang back saying to bring the dress back in and they would try to fix it. However in the meantime i was talking to my sis in law who said that the last time i went to try it on she was with me in the shop and saw a small mark on the dress on the side of it, she pointed it out to the woman and she said oh don't worry when its steam cleaned that mark will come off. So this makes me certain that the damage on the dress happened when they were cleaning it. And im so upset right now, because i keep thinking okay the threads can be fixed and threaded back in or whatever but the other mark on the dress is actually the material itself and its damage to the material so how in the name of god can that be fixed????? :( :(
