Am i being tight

right, i have bought thr girls their dresses etc and i was booking their makeup (which i am paying for). when i spoke to the beautican she said she could do the eye lashes for €10 each for the bm. i told one and she said yes. i had hinted that if she wanted it she would pay for it. After a while i said look I am not paying for eye lashes for my BM's i have enough costs and it is not essential- jit then turned from def getting them to I am not sure. I am a little annoyed that if I am payinf for stuff people take. Also- i was asked by the same BM was I paying for shellac manicures!!! I said no- that it was a bit excessive and not essential.What do you think? Money is no issue for this bridesmaid

No way are you being tight! Dresses, make up (and i guess you're prob paying for hair too) is loads! Shellac manicures, eyelashes etc are in no way necessary! I'm a good bit off yet, but one of my bm's is sort of hinting that i should give her money towards a BRA cos she'll need a new one "for support if you want strapless dress" !! No way is it happening! I'm paying for dresses, make up, hair, jewellery and maybe shoes (although my other bm has offered to get her own shoes, so we'll see about that one!). i think some people will jsut take advantage to get stuff. Its your wedding, and you decide what's necessary. if they want extra, i think they should get the extras themselves!

thanks while to go. i prob would not have minded the normal nails but when she suggested the shellac it really rocked me. I do think it is taking advantage.

Thought I was the only one getting hit up for new bra's - I am paying for dresses, shoes, make-up and hair anything else is out of their own pocket cause I don't consider them my responsiblity - I am not paying for tans, nails or fake eyelashes or a trial. 1 Bm wanted a make-up trial and a hair trial but there is no way. You are not being mean just realistic - you don't get a full-on makeover on the brides on the buck - who expects someone to pay for their manicure and not just a normal manicure, I don't get manicures but I'd imagine that a shellac one would be twice the price of a normal one.

Mooseyd if you don't make something a requirement and its the bm's choice then you don't have to pay. To be clear - if you require a specific nail colour then you pay for the manicure or if you are a normal human being an don't care what way a bm's nails are, let alone the colour of the said nails - you don't pay.

thanks August 2012- i don't care what colour they have to be honest i never even thought about it. thanks girls. gosh i do think people can take advantage- they have very little costs coming to the wedding. thanks girls. as for bra's it better not be mentioned.

Youre definitely not being tight!! I am having three adult bms and i'm having their hair and make up done and they are having floor length dresses (winter wedding) so all i've said is that i want them to wear whatever footwear they will find comfortable as it wont be seen I cant afford three new pairs of shoes on top of everything else. As long as they're not wearing uggs, i dont care! One bm offered to buy whatever shoes i wanted her to get. Another BM (south african, so i think it might be a different tradition there) offered to pay for everything she was wearing including dress, hair and make up! i was touched but no way, i asked her to be my BM not pay for the priviledge!
You're right to say no to new bra and special nail requests - it just gets out of hand otherwise! x

oh god no your not being at all!!! she is definately taking advantage! Paying for dresses, shoes, makeup and hair is loads! If they want extra themselves or better version, let them pay for it themselves. When its something that your not telling them they have to have them let them go do it themselves and pay for it them selves!

Not a bit hun!!!I can't believe the cheek of her!!!I've been BM twice and I had my dress,hair and makeup paid for and thought that was more than enough!!I paid for my own tan and nails both times,you have to draw the line somewhere!!!

people got asked to buy bras!!!!dear god im floored at that one!!!!no way are ya being stingy,the hair and nails im paying for along with a dress and shoes(which might end up being bought in pennies,who cares??)nothing else has even crossed my mind so hoping hoping that it hasnt crossed theird,,oh god help us all if we have to start paying for bras!!!
