Sweet Table

Unread postby MrsM10 » Mon Jul 12, 2010 10:57 am

Hi Girls,

I bought some jars on Saturday for my sweet table, not sure if I got enough now though!
Just wondering if anyone had one of these at their wedding and if they have any jars they want to sell on?
Also, looking for some small metal tongs and metal/plastic scoops if anyone has any of these?
Thanks :happywave

hey kia i had a sweet table at my wedding (i actually still use all the jars now in the kitchen and stuff) but i got most of mine in dunnes and heatons. we used alot of kilner jars and big buge bowls!
there was not one person at my wedding who had seen this before and it was completely raided in about 10-15 minutes . i was disgusted that i didnt have more stuff so just keep that in mind that it would be no harm to have extra stuff to put out as like a second helping.
there was a few disappointed people!!
i didnt have scoops or anything but i did have paper striped candy bags in our wedding colours (black and white) which i could see on all the tables around for the night. it really went down well!

Thanks for the advice Mrs Smurf, have already asked the hotel would they set it up for me and then re-fill it later in the evening ;) need to be extra prepared with the sweet tooths in mine and h2b's families!
At the min I plan on having it at the arrival reception and then having enough to carry through to the evening reception. I have been looking at the striped bags on ebay, going to get some in pink and white, and some blue and white as pink and blue are my colours.
I just want a few scoops for the sweets that don't have any wrappers.
What sweets did you go for?

Anyone I have mentioned it to hasn't seen it at any other weddings either so I am thinking it will go down well :) Bit different for my crowd ;)

the hotel werent that gone on us having sweets that werent pre wrapped so most of ours were in wrappers (of course i snook in a few that werent :) )
we had bought a few tins of roses and used these. then we got loads of stuff from the 2 euro shop like wham, stinger, black jack, fruit salad bars.
loads and loads of lollipops.
loads of chewitt sweets and fruit salads and black jacks.
gummy bears white mice and them UFO sherbet sweets.
then we had a bowl with like different kinds of mints in it like milky moo's and fox's glacier mints and humbugs!
we got a table cloth off ebay too that was black and white to go with the colours too :)

sounds great!
out hotel never mentioned anything about sweets not wrapped so I am not going to worry about it for the moment

I was thinking of getting some pink ribbon and maybe tying it around some of the jars to dress them up a bit - not sure if it will work with the jars we got though, will have to see.
Ikea is great for the jars.
