[Bride of the Year]

Thought this would be useful, something to give the Best Man:

Go to the wedding rehearsal

Help the groom with odds and edds the evening before the wedding

Help the groom to pack and make sure transport is sorted

Check that Groom has his speech (and his own!)

Hold onto the marriage paperwork

Keep the rings safe (on his person for the ceremony)

Organise that all the men have their buttonholes

Check that key suppliers have arrived at the church, i.e. flowers, red carpet, singer, photographer, video

If no ushers, hand out the mass booklets and inform guests which side of the church they'll be sitting on

Witness the declaration of civil consent in the church

Hold the rings for the priest

Sign the civil register as a witness (along with chief bridesmaid)

Help organise families for the photo shoot

Ensure that everyone has transport to photoshoot

Pay the suppliers due money on the day

Collect cards and presents from guests, keep them safe in his hotel room

Deliver his best man speech (usually speaks last)

Dance with the chief bridesmaid (usually after the first dance)

Unwind and enjoy the night!

Return the suits after the wedding and that nothing is missing

thanks bride of the year good list i think my other half's Best Man thinks all he has to do is show up hold the rings dance with the BM and the go on the session!!

That's great!! I'm passing that one on!!! The BM is living in London- Maybe now he'll take some time off and arrive and help H2B the week before the wedding!!! Love it!!

my bestman(my brother) has enough to do he's the fecking photographer poor man i still got to talk him in to do a speech fingers crossed he will plus he lives in england which makes life very difficult because my other groomsmen is as much use as a chocolate fireguard!
