men's engagement ring

Postby im married » Mon Aug 24, 2009 9:00 am

just listen to 2fm there and they were bout mangagement rings (not sure bout the spelling) - engagment rings for men. my h2b wouldnt go for it but i was just wondering have ye gotten engagment rings for you h2b??

also just on a side note my h2b is not sure if he'll wear a wedding ring or not - he works with his hands and he saw a guys finger being pulled off cas he was wearing a ring - so he said that he mitent wear one at work at least. is any1 else's h2b not going to wear one??? by the way i dont mind if he wears it or not i know we'll be married and a ring wont change that.

scdp mine isn't going to wear his to work either, he's a tradesman so it wouldnt be safe to do so while out on site! but i told him he can wear it at home and to the pub and that if he goes clubbin' he can take it off and hide it in his sock. He laughs and tells all the lads that one!

My husband was a tradesman as well so he didn't wear his wedding band to work but he always puts it on when he gets home and doesn't take it off till he's going to bed.. I thought that would have worn off by now as we were married a year just there at the weekend but he said he likes wearing it as it loves being married :D I know for a fact he wouldn't wear an engagement ring as he doesn't like wearing jewelery so his wedding band is enough for him.

other than for safety reasons can't understand a married man who wouldn't wear his wedding ring??? though can understand trepidation bout "men's engagement ring", ave had a number of piercings and wear a bit of jewelry most of da time(old ring-bracelet-and fiance bought watch) but once wedding ring (silver along with both of our tastes) goes on, it won't come off unless absolutely necessary (sport, shower, etc)

That's good to hear gmcm! Btw, which mrs2be user is your w2b? I bet she's really pleased you joined up, and it's great to have some more male perspective on this stuff! ;) My h2b has the same view, and so do I. Why wouldn't someone want to wear their wedding ring? It wouldn't be a good sign anyway!

:iagree

I've never seen a man with two wedding rings next to each other (like an engagement ring and a wedding ring) so I don't think an engagement ring would be of any interest.
If you have to take it on and off, the best thing is to have a necklace to put it onto, which you can tuck under your shirt but I'm glad my fiance doesn't have a job where a ring would be dangerous! He says he doesn't want to ever take it off & wants it to be part of him, which I like, of course!
I did hear of a professional sailor not too long ago who had his finger ripped off when his ring got caught :o The others were saying he should've known better than to have worn it at all.

I think in the old days it used to be more common for men not to wear a wedding ring, don't know why though but a lot of older men don't seem to.

h2b has very weird hands - like very skinny fingers but with very fat knuckles and with him working with his hands like i said before he saw a guys finger got ripped out cas of the work he does so i'd prefer to have h2b with all his fingers and no ring than missing a finger cas of a ring. the weird thing is my dad or fil2b doesnt wear a wedding ring either and both of them worked with there hands too. i must say to him bout the chain though - thats an idea
