Suit for Father of the Bride!

Postby MrsM » Mon Apr 12, 2010 12:08 pm

Hi guys,
Myself and H2B went to look for suits for everyone on Sunday. H"B looked great and everything was sorted Happy days!! :) BUT then the man in the shop said that the two fathers should have a suit jacket with no tails.

This has being playing on my mind since....Will it not look weird when my dad and I walk up that he is in a different jacket? :nope :yeah :banghead

Which do you think will look better? what whould you do if you were me?

well we arent having tails but long jackets and the two dads will be wearing the same, but it was said to us to give the dad short jackets, but we both said no the same jackets.

tails i think is a bit different and i think the dads should wear something different, just to make them stand out from the groom mens. i know my brother had this, and i thought it looked nice.

i think you should out them your dad and see which is nicer.

on a similar note.... my h2b wont wear tails! which i dont really mind. his father doesnt want to wear the matching suits at all!! and my dad will wear whatever within reason  the bestman isnt too pushed either....

so by the looks of it none of mine will be matching. illl be lucky to get them all in the same colour!!

so i wouldnt worry about the tails girl, just as long as they all coordinate in some way :D

Girls ye are lucky your getting your dads into the same suit as your H2B, my dad won't, he kicked up a stink the time my brother got married and I asked him and he had just said to me that he bought a new suit before Christmas and he wanted to wear his own suit.

if you want your dad to wear tails, then ask him to wear tails. if he doesnt want to, get a different one, and if you dont want to do that, let him sort his own suit.
To be honest, its not a huge thing if they're different, (unless its something you really want) so dont stress too much over it!

None of the grooms men or dads are wearing the same suits at our wedding... it's not ideal but i'm not freaking over it. Grooms men are wearing black, but they are two different suits, h2b got his suit from a different shop also, so his wont be perfectly matched. My dad is wearing one he bought himself, it's black pin-stripe (which i'm not over-joyed with but he was going to wear a kilt and leather waistcoat, so the pin-stripe suit is a god-send!), and i don't have a god-damn clue what h2b's dad is wearing! I just figured once they are all in black i'll be happy, but now i am a bit worried about what h2b's dad is wearing, we'll have to speak to him because if he doesn't want to wear a suit we're in a bit of a pickle.
