Suits?

Postby cheeky2u » Sun Sep 19, 2010 10:46 pm

Hi everyone,
h2b and I went looking into suits there over the weekend and I was just wondering three things;
1. Who are you getting suits for?
2. How much is it for the suits and whats included?
3. Whats the story with fittings, picking up etc?

Thanks everyone in advance

ya know i havent sorted that out yet cause h2b wants to do it so i will leave it for so long n if he hasnt done anything then ill step up. want to give him so independce in the wedding and he be wearing the suits not me.. lol i have suggested lovley ones but having none of it. i wanted brown pin strip not a hope so then suggested grey and told he'd see but black isnt the best for him and my bm are brown.
i got a number from one of the misses gonna call him in new year and see wat crack is.
suits varry in price.. i thought id get all six for 500 euro but i want them to look super well but someone else said it could be done.
I htink ya need to do it like three months before hand cause i dunno excatly know how it works but if u book too early the suit could maybe be worn out by the time h2b gets it (if ya get me, from other wearers, cause its the suit we booked excatly) I think ya can have two fittings depending on if everyone available on the day if fitting.
and i think ya pick up day before and return eother day after or two days after and if not come to arrangment with shop or i think they charge you again.

We went to a few places last weekend and we have decided on where we are going to get it off. for 5 suits we pay for 4 and get the 5th free at €128 each so will be a total of €512. We aint booking anything yet as guy said we had plenty of time and that who ever we decide to go with anytime in the new year would be soon enough.
We are getting the groom, 2 best men, father of groom and pageboys suit, No father of the bride.
In our 128 it includes all 5 items, trousers, shirt, jacket, cravat or tie or whatever we decide on, and hankerchief. shoe can be rented for and extra €18 but I was saying that most of the guys will have black shoes so no need to buy new shoes or rent them.
Our guys says a couple of months before to get all measured and he will order suits which comes in 2 wks before and he wants to see all then again to make sure all is ok. No deposit required, full payment upon picking up suits and drop them back whenever we get chance in the few days after wedding.

We are getting suits for h2b, best man, groomsman, and the 2 dads.

It is about €120 euro to rent the suits, (we are getting them for €110) that includes everything bar the shoes but I do know some places do include shoe rental as well. I have a page boy and was going to rent him a suit too, but it was the same price as the adults so I ended up buying a georgous little 4 piece suit for €60 in dublin.

The lads have started going in for their fittings now, and the suits are ordered in from the factory to fit them. I know a lot of places alter the suits they have in stock but the place we are getting ours has started with a new company and as I say, they are all ordered in to fit, rather than altered. I was in on Friday and he just said they can start coming in now, as they want to get fitted and he will probably have them a few weeks before the wedding then.
We will pick our suits up the day before the wedding, or maybe two days, don't want them hanging around too long, and will probably get someone to drop them back the monday after the wedding but the shop should be able to cater to any arrangements to suit you.
hth :)

Just a quick note we found someplaces don't dryclean completely after each wear- crazy i know! WE found a place that does adn you get to keep teh shirt as they said it's more hygenic since the shirt takes the most sweat and it's 115 per suit, 80 for my page boy. Though we're buying my boy's suit as they guy advised as it's cheaper and he's loaning us a matching cravat and waistcoat for him for free. We were told 2months before to get measured. But could always be done last min if of average build and height. My dad won't be measured officially until the fri we get married on the mon. We collect them the day before. Then check with the shop as this shop- wilfs have alot fo stock so said they have lots of sizes so change change up or down last min if needed.
