I think 30 minutes is the minimum before hand I want h2b there, as guest will start arriving about 30 - 45 minutes before hand and I want them there to greet the guest as most of the guest are from his side.
But to be honest with the transport we have booked, they are going to end up being there just under an hour beforehand as it has to come and pick me up then but he cant blame me as it was him who picked the transport, lol.
I think its nicer to be greeted by someone on the bridal party when you arrive at the church and that way you feel more welcome and more included in the day

I think half an hour is the norm to be there to make sure everything is sorted and be there to greet the guests. If they want a quick pint they can doit before they go to the chruch, but defo no less than 20mins before hand would be good to land at the chruch.

Ive also seen people land at the church up to half an hour or more after the bride arrives, i would be disgusted if people were that late into my wedding! If I ask you to come to my wedding, its because I want you to be there, not to rock up when ever you feel like it! If the bride can get herself and bm's out on time or as close to on time as possible, everyone else really has no excuse!!

my h2b will be there about 45 mins before mass starts cause the limo he is getting in has to pick up my bm's.. He can make sure all is in order, meet all the guests and have a samoke to calm the nerves

I recommend to my couples for the groom to be there 45mins beforehand (doesn't always work out that way!). It also can depend on the type of service, locations and transport arrangements as mentioned. Although it sounds like a lot of time the extra few minutes helps them settle and once they're pre-occupied with 'final checks' and the first guests arriving the time flies.

I would still be inclined to suggest 35-40mins even though there may be less 'checks' to do but consider also it is often the first time on the day that the photographer/videographer will have met the groom and his party, his parents etc. depending on logistics, (having concentrated on the bridal preparations) and the more relaxed they feel the better.
