Hi Hun. I had it done 5/6 years ago and have never looked back. (pardon the pun):) my eyesight was soooo bad. There's nothing to worry about. You go in on the day and they have a look at your eyes. They give you Valium and in you go. Takes bout 15 mins per eye. I won't lie to you it's a bit strange lying in there with your eyes clamped open but it's not sore. When it's over you go lie down for 20 mins with your eyes closed. They put some very sophisticated(not) covers over your eyes and you're away. You go home and sleep for couple of hours and viola! You can see. I'd recommend it if you can afford it. Like a new lease if life. Hth x

My sister also got it done, she was -7 in both eyes. Says its the best thing she ever did. I am the same as you, I go on and on about it as well but dont have the courage to do it! Can I ask where this clinic is? She said her experience was grand, I remember I was doing my final college exam the same day. I was in my exam an hour before her appointment time and she was out before I was finished! She said the first eye was grand as she didnt know what to expect but she found the second one a bit strange. Strange but in no way was it sore. Just a bit sensitive for a while afterwards and she had to use eye drops and have covers over her eyes at night. (I think some of that has changed now tho, she got hers done years ago!) Best of luck hun, let us know how you get on!

My wife had it done several years ago and never an issue and loves her clear vision. Her experience was much as described by the other posters. The key thing she always maintains is really check out the clinic and be sure who is going to be handling the procedure and what are the arrangements for after care - i.e are they permanently based in clinic, will they be on-call/available that night, evening and do the check-ups etc. In fact I think her actual consultant featured in a recent episode of The Apprentice so very much around for the long term. Best of luck if you do decide to go with it

Hey Mrsbreen2be,
i had mine done 6 weeks ago. best thing i have ever done. wore glasses for 20 years.
just a couple of things to note though. you will have discomfort for about three hours after. not pain just discomfort. eyes streaming with water and eyelids very heavy. best thing is to go to bed as soon as you can. Wear sunglasses if going out in sunlight or going into a bright room. your eyes can be light sensitive for a couple of day and use the drops as regularly as you can. They will be free to you for life so just keep asking for them. They will give you loads before you leave the clinic, but you will go through them. Also another little tip is get the Arnica tablets in the health shop and take them for a couple of days before and a couple of weeks after. Just helps with the healing process. Other than that, the clinic will tell you everything. There will be no pain at all and you feel nothing. and i promise it is the best thing (beside from getting married) you will ever do.
Good Luck with it. :-)

No, like you i had it on the Friday adn went back to work on the Monday. If you use computer, try and take regluar breaks and keep putting in the drops because your eyes will get dry. Also, if you have air con at work, ask them if they can turn it off for a few days as this will dry them out too.

2 friends of mine had it and they are delighted they did it - one was really nervous and skeptical going in but did it!

Both can't believe the difference! and no hassle of glasses or contact lenses!! ;)

Ooh, ya may let us know how you get on hun!! I wear glasses and I bloody hate them - although if I look particularly crap they're a great way to hide  I don't mind wearing contacts at all - when they're in they're in to stay and I never notice anything for the rest of day! Still would love to get up the courage to go about getting them done!! Do you mind me asking - how much is it costing hun?
