eeek - weight loss needed in final 6 weeks

Postby livingabroad » Fri Aug 12, 2011 11:30 am

Can I have some inspiration please! i am sooo bad at losing weight! tried weight watchers but found them too condescending! and I love food! lol!! I'm 11 and a half stone but I want to be at least under 11, ideally 10 and a half for wedding - but its soooo soon (17 sept) - anyone got last minute tricks? One BM is 6 foot 1 and ten stone!! the other is 12 stone and my height but doing the cabbage soup diet! sh wants to have at least a stone gone. Wondering if its worth doing it - has anyone tried? its only for a week so I was thinking I might do that? I get so bored if im not getting instant results!

and I'm frustrated with myself that I keep giving up. I do loads of exercise and have a personal trainer - pity he cant follow me around to stop me eating!

So cabbage soup - is it awful? I work in a small office, I can't cope with it being smelly and nasty!!!

Hi livingabroad,
Do you mind me asking your height? Losing a half stone is definately doable without too much stress. If I were you I wouldn't do any drastic diets, I'm not basing this on it not being healthy because I know you want to look your best on your big day, but, honestly, the cabbage soup diet, watercress diet, etc any kind of restrictive diet will basically cause you to break out in colesaurs and spots which aren't as easily hidden as a jiggly belly :)
My top tips are..........get a heart rate monitor (you can get a good one like polar for about 40 euros) this will give you an ACCURATE calorie burn counter based on your heart rate. Aim to burn 500 kcals EVERY DAY obviously running will burn them more quickly but walking at fast pace will clock up 500 kcals in about 70mins, thats 3500kcals a week of a kcal burn almost a pound. Second most effective tip, smaller plate, fill it absolutely but only one plate. The more fibre the more you'll lose but remember to drink water, next tip, avoid fizzy drinks, even low kcal cause they will cause you to bloat and my last tip is weight training, even on the machines...building muscle won't make you weigh more but will burn kcals when you're not exercising and you'll tone up. On your big day smile, everyone will be there for YOU and YOU WILL DO IT AND YOU WILL BE A BEAUTIFUL BRIDE x

Boctober - thank you very much. I'm very active with the horses and a personal trainer so doing weights etc - I'm just a very very bad eater! On principle I hate those crash diets - buts its just so tempting!!! but your right - it would be better to be healthly and feel good, any radical diet at this stage would make me break out - the dress is strategically designed with ruffles to hide the bulge! I think I'm being good from here on - no white bread etc, no fizzy drink until after wedding. I'm 5'3' and 11 and a half stone - ideally for my build I should be 10 stone - some day!!!

5ft 3, 11 stone would be perfect for you. You can do it. If you need an extra boost I can't recommend eflexees support all in one underwear enough. I'm about 11 stone, also active in the gym, I eat too much (love food) cant take my own advice. I promise I don't work for them but they are very effective control underwear (better than spanx cause they don't roll down and are boned to give you a defined waist without overspill ) :) They do them in most underwear shops but sometimes debehams have offers, I got mine for about 28 euro, I have a post baby belly/loose skin really but I feel so confident in it.. What is most important is that you feel happy and confident on the day. and remember your h2b picked you, just you, the way you are...so clearly you aint bad to look at ;) best of luck with it x
