oh god, the pain, why am i doing this?

Postby glitterbride » Tue Jul 19, 2011 7:52 pm

I started a home teeth whitening programme last week that i got from my dentist, its where you get the custom made trays and put them in everynight.
in 7 nights i have only been able to put them in twice, the pain is excrutiating, i dont think i can continue but dont want to waste the money either, the pain can sometimes last all day and painkillers dont get rid of it.
anyone else experience this, all i wanted was a bright smile for my wedding, now i m not sure if i can see it thru, supposed to be wearing them for 2 weeks every night!

well i thought that this was professional because i got it from my dentist.

asbabe - the pain is from the bleach itself not the trays.

my teeth arent even that bad to start with but i just wanted to go all out for my wedding.

do you reckon the dentist might give me my money back on the basis that i dont think i can continue?

Oh the thoughts of pain in your teeth, I think I'm with you muckypup, would rather give birth to my 8.9 baby again!!

I got a Polar White Pro - Teeth Whitening Pen from Carter beauty & found it very good, I didn't use it for as long as I should have & still saw results, with no pain!!!!

i had both hun the laser whitening in a clinic and the home trays as well. the clinic procedure was meant to be 4 consecutive rounds of treatment i bailed after 3 i couldnt take the pain. i still have the trays at home and just need to get the gel if i want to do it again. in my opinion the trays are very mild in comparison to the laser itself - i found the trays more tolerable than the laser treatment and yes i was happy with the result but dont think id go through it again i'll stick with the home kit i have - where did u buy yr kit from?

my dentist told me to leave them in overnight while i sleep, i did sleep fine with them the other night but pain hit around lunch.

i told dentist and she told me to do it every second nite but i cant even do that at the moment cos its taking so long to get over it each time i put them in.

I used a tray whitening kit a few years ago and I will never do it again. The pain nearly killed me after 3 days so I gave up. My teeth were so sensitive I couldn't eat anything for days. I thought the laser whitening would be better and not hurt as I was intending on getting it done in November. Is that not the case? Damn.
