Any Diet Suggestions??

Postby sazabelle7 » Sat May 26, 2012 10:07 am

Hi Girlies,
Im wondering if anybody has any tips for losing weight before the big day?? I have two years so im hoping slow and steady will win the race but would really like to have dropped a couple of dress sizes before I go dress shopping so im hoping to start now. All tips really appreciated as I really dont want to be upset about my size when I go dress shopping its a once in a lifetime experience so really want to enjoy it and not be panicking about dresses making me look huge!!!

I'd love to drop a dress size (or 2 if I can) before the end of summer so I'm going to try slimming world too and we have a cross trainer, rowing machine and weights in the house so gonna get my ass into gear and get serious about it!

MyfitnessPal is great! Something else you could do is enter yourself in mini marathons like the cork mini marathon for example is in Sept. which is 5 miles and really gives you something to aim for. There are loads of charity events all around the country that you could look into. I have found cycling really great too. Exercise alongside diet is definately the key, try and find a class at your local gym like zumba or spinning and bring along a friend for the craic :) Best of luck!

Hi Misses,

I decided to loose weight and I had no idea how. I used fitness pal, couch to 5k and they didnt work.

I joined the gym cut out crap and swapped white bread on lunch for Rye bread (its low in fat and high in fibre) I went to the gym four days a week. Normally Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun. I worked hard and I only dropped nearly a stone. It wasnt fast it was at a decent pace. I hadnt alot to loose i gained a few Lb and got to 9st7lb, im now down to 8st 9lb. The H2b will kill me if I loose anymore. With the fine weather and Bank holidays I dont go to the gym as much but walk alot.

I dont believe in starving yourself to get to where you want to be. I had take aways I just didnt eat loads. If i got a pizza it was the smallest ones or 3/4 normal slices. I would then work it off. basically if you work off some of what you eat you will loose weight. Reduce your calories to 1500 and do some excersise. if you eat the right foods it will all fall into place!
:juggle :highfive

I'd recommend slimming world hands down, if like me, you love your food! there's pretty much nothing that's off limits - i love pasta and spuds, and you can eat them 'til you're blue in the face on SW! try it online for a while if you can't get to the meetings, but the members are all really supportive (it's the highlight of my week sometimes!!!)
and as for the gym - don't even bother! just get out and walk more, that's what i did - the beauty of slimming world is that it's designed to give results even if you do no more activity than usual, obviously the more you exercise, then faster you'll see those results.

good luck xx
