Unislim

Postby mrsfa2b » Thu Sep 08, 2011 6:33 pm

OK...took the plunge. Joined unislim the other day. The sil and myself. I'd ideally love to 3 stone, but 2 stone would be a good consolation prize. Maybe I should do a lil ticker for the ( :fingerscrossed ) weight loss. Its so fecking hard tho. Anyway..just thought I'd share my random thoughts. x

Girls do you mind me asking how Unislim works? I've done WW before and have been succesful but really don't like the WW leader in my area so was thinking of trying Unislim as well. Also, no matter how hard I try I just can't get my head around the new Pro Points system in Weight Watchers.

Hey Dufferlover, I am a past WW member too, but I just got so sick of counting points I stopped going and the weight was starting to creep back on so for a change I joined UniSlim. So far so good, lost just over 3lbs in 3 weeks.
There is no counting points with Unislim - you have your list of free fruit & veg, free protien (lean beef, chicken etc) list of carbs which you are allowed 5 carbs a day, other protein which you are allowed one a day, other fruit which I think is a max of 3 day etc etc etc, you are allowed 2 yums a day then to use as your treat, 2 jaffa cakes or a packet of low fat crisps would be an example of what 2 yums would be so it's not for the faint hearted because I've a very sweet tooth, what gets me over my sweet cravings is drinking a cup of low fat hot chocolate (which is free).
The book is very easy to understand and has an extensive list of foods under each section. HTH

That sounds really good! Much better than counting points. Was looking on their website and it says you can do the online programme for 34 euro for eight weeks! Are you ladies going to meetings or doing it online?

I was thinking about doing it online but I know in my heart and sole I wouldn't be as strict on myself if I didn't have to stand up infront of someone each week, I'd sneak a bar in here and there ;)

I'm glad I'm not the only one doing it. Phew!! I'm going to the class coz I was doing another diet online but I got lazy so going to the classes will give me the boot (hopefully) that I need. The 5 carbs a day is the hardest bit, I finding. Coz the carbs fill ya up! Our leader was saying that the carbs absorb all the fluid, so you weigh more. So by eating less carbs you'll absorb less so weigh less. Good in theory!! She also said she would drink half a glass if red wine each night. Apparently it 'keeps you moving'!!! Hope that's not TMI.
