5 months to plan a wedding!
5 months to plan a wedding!
New to all of this! Been engaged for a while but only getting round to telling people now, hope to get married in October (yep this october, 5 months time approx!) as we have people coming from USA and Australia and they have planned to come in October anyways so that kinda makes up our minds for us otherwise we'd probably keep putting it off as we are quite laid back! But just wondering has anyone planned theirs in such a short time? Is it realistic/hectic? We are seriously considering having the whole day in a marquee as we live out in the country. It would mean a humanist ceremony in the marquee with dinner and plenty of dancing afterwards. Has anyone used a marquee before or planning on using one? Especially in october, weather could play havoc! Did you supply the alcohol or get a company in and how much approx did that cost?
Any advice/ comments would be greatly appreciated and sorry about the long rant!
Thanks x

First thing I would do is ring them for clarification on this!
Also make your appointment for registrar now if you haven't already as they need you to sign on the dotted line MINIMUM 3 months before the day - there are also waiting periods!
Also booking a venue for the marquee, and also decided where ceremony will take place
All loved up

Re: 5 months to plan a wedding!
It is totally achievable - in his case, the venue is civil, family have done (or offered) to do invitations, cake, buffet, flowers, car, evening entertainment - band and wine.
If you are looking for alcohol - Lidl and Aldi do some great wine and then surely you'll know somebody with a cash and carry card to buy some basic spirits. Don't stress about the details when it comes to bar supply - the only thing I would say is make sure there is ice! Have real glasses for family and a few boxes of plastic ones for everyone else after the Reception.
This is my budget wedding advice! And of course - beautiful invitations from me http://www.etsy.com/people/announceandinvite?ref=si_pr

Weather however is something we just can't predict anymore.. ie july / aug you used to be nearly guaranteed sun or at least dry weather.. not anymore!
make the decision based on how you want everything to be and stick a pair of wellies in your bag just in case lol
Enjoy all the planning and congratulations!
