:bluewave hi and welcome!!
i have seen on this site before where a bride got married abroad, not sure where, but she said alot of small things eg favours etc were very expensive over there! it was actually cheaper to get them here or off the net and bring them over, or get them sent over! because the suppliers over there have very little competition, their prices are supposed to be high! So just be aware of that!

And ebay is your best friend!! :D

hi welcome to the site. Not sure about getting married abroad. As other posters have said HAGGLE, HAGGLE, HAGGLE and ebay. You can save plenty by doing this.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding... I got married in Italy, make sure you tell your wedding planner to tell photographer what type of photos you want and also to give a list of songs you want played to the DJ... You'll find some of the local suppliers don't speak much English so make sure you tell your wedding planner exactly what you want so she can communicate that to them... apart from that you'll have a ball

No we had no problem with guest accommodation as everyone just stayed in the hotel were the wedding was on. I went to another wedding in lake garda and everyone had to stay in different hotels but the wedding planner gave the couple a list of hotels that were in the area and they included this with their invites and the guests booked whatever hotel they wanted. easy :D

I went to a wedding in italy and the wedding planner had done a detailed list of things for the guests to know that we got e-mailed to us - we booked the accomodation ourselves through the wedding planner
