band or dj?

hi guys recently engaged and new on here seems like a great site ive so many questions to ask!!! am looking at bands and they seem so expensive the one i really want has quoted is 2300 is this an average price people are seeing or is this off the wall??

Expensive I think... I had quotes ranging from 1500 to 4000, mostly at bottom end - the 4k was for a 3 hour set for a 7 member well known band

I am having DJ only and he will be play from approx 10pm - to 1pm and I wasn't going to pay €1800 for four hours!! My sister had a band and dj at her wedding and no one really danced to her band, but they never left the floor when the dj played!!

i was always really set on a band but now im not so sure seems a big chunk of our budget for what a dj can provid in place!!!
