Postby dixie82 » Wed Aug 10, 2011 9:09 pm

hey got engaged 3 weeks ago and decided to get married nov 2012 and as alot of places were booking up we decided to get organising straight away.

anyway been to lots of different venues and have narrowed it down to Dunboyne Castle or Knightsbrook in Trim. Just wondering if anybody has any views on either of them.

Have to say loving the site and am already completely addicted!!

Hi Dixie82, Congrats on the engagement!! We must be in the same area as we looked at same hotels, we went for Trim Castle in the end, from Dunboyne so didn't go for there as a bit too close to home but really is a fab spot, heard nuttin but good reports from it and I hear prices are more realistic now as it was quite expensive when it first opened. Was in a wedding in Knightsbrook however that was three years ago, hotel is fab and lovely grounds etc, we were in a weeding in the smaller of the rooms and it really was great, food etc fab, just weigh up the deals both hotels are offering and see what you think, hard choice though as both great hotels:~) Lovely photo options in Trim aswell :) If you need any other help or info bout other suppliers etc give me a shout, I've a good bit sorted, wedding start of April 2012. Happy Planning :clapper

Have been to weddings at both and I prefered Dunboyney Castle foodwise... but as a set up Knightsbrook is great with the accomodation onsite (the houses)... Im actually surprised that Knightsbrook is more expensive than Dunboyne!! food and service is better in Dunboyne.

Go Knightsbrook, my sister got married there in January 2011.
They couldn't do more for her, she got an amazing deal and the wedding co-ordinator is amazing.Everything on the day was fabulous too, I really couldn't recommend them high enough.
I went to their food tasting with them as well and we tasted food from a wedding that was happening there that day, and I really couldn't fault them on the quality of the food 150 portions later!
I was even considering having my wedding there except they did not have the date we wanted free.
They have houses on-site that are so handy for the wedding party to stay in and it doesn't work out expensive.
Any other questions just let me know, good luck with the decisions
