Hi everyone!!
Telling people I have just gotten engaged never gets old so I figure I should tell people online too!!
So we are just engaged three weeks, after a very romantic proposal by a castle in the moonlight i might add,
and its the best feeling ever! So excited to be getting married, not just the wedding day but
also can't wait to start this new phase with my h2b!!

But in the midst of all the excitement I must admit there has been panic too.....
we would like to get married next Christmas, is that enough time to get everything done??
We really want to keep costs down and certainly don't want to spend more than 12,000, is that realistic??
Can you have a fab wedding for that? (keeping in mind that the venue we have looked at quotes approx 6500e, but we love it and its beautiful and is throwing in loads of extras)......Neither h2b or myself want anything too fussy just something simple but beautiful!!

So any money saving tips would be really appreciated...have been reading loads online, plan to make own invitations and my Mam will make cake....but regarding bridesmaid dresses (im having 3), flowers, band, photographer and everything else any tips would be great!

Hey and welcome Congratulations on your engagement. We are doing our wedding for 10,000 and our venue is 5,000. In order to get the best value in terms of money and quality you will need to do loads of research (but its fun). Is is Christmas 2012 you are planning on ? If so I would suggest going to Debenhams and/or Kildare Village as they have great deals on bridesmaid dresses at the minute! Alot of bridal stores are having sales at the minute on last years collections so might be worth a look HTH x

I definately think its possible as long as you search out deals and also dont get caught up in the spending whirlwind that can sometimes happen. Congratulations on your engagement and have fun planning for a Christmas wedding! Exciting times ahead for you
