Newbie to the site

Postby shaunat » Thu Oct 06, 2011 11:50 am

Hi there :happywave

I have just joined this fab site and am already addicted. I got engaged on holiday in NYC in September and am already on a mission to plan a perfect wedding. I am looking forward to sharing ideas and information with all you brides to be.

At the moment I have to decide to go for a wedding at home or abroad and am researching every option. Anybody else going through a similar through process?

Hi shaunat, not going through a similar process just wanted to welcome you to the site :happywave.

We're having our wedding at home, just over five months to go. We both have big families, lots of nieces and nephews too so it was always going to be a wedding at home for us.

Happy planning.

Thank you for the warm welcome :bluewave

Wow you must be getting so excited now. I can't contain my excitment but feel I should since I am only beginning the journey. You're wedding sounds like it will be fab with all your family around you. That is so important. Neither of us have that large a family so going abroad is an option if we give our guests plenty of notice. I have an appointment with a Portuguese wedding planner booked for next month as she is over in Dublin so I will gather all the information I need from her hopefully. :fingerscrossed

We're in Westmeath, in a small village. So it'll be our local church then small reception in our local pub across the road and then Bloomfield House Hotel for reception. Can't wait!

Wow thank you all so much for the lovely welcome.

I am loving the site already, if anything for the icons alone - I love them all :smitten

I am looking forward to hearing all about all of your weddings and sharing my experiences. I am not past the engagement stage at all yet and have already found picking engagement party invites so much fun (even if I still haven't found the ones I want :frown )
