Thanks for all the help ladies :-) :-)
Was thinking of a city venue as it would be easier for people to get to and for guests who are coming to the evening reception. Also it would save the guests having to go through the expense of having to stay in the hotel over night, as this would be the case if we had a county venue.

Great minds think alike thats exactly what we done. We had ours in Rochestown. There is a lot of choice within the city. We found the Carrigaline Court Hotel quite good. I loved the Imperial but the room was too small for us they do a great package though. Also the Metropole has started to do weddings again i think. And the most important thing is always negotiate.

We were looking at the Imperial, we both quite like it. Packages are great in all the hotels.....if you have over 80 going, then you get great deals, but we will only have about 50 at ours

yeah we had a look at that too, but again great packages for numbers over 80. I was wondering, seeing as we will be getting married in the venue aswell, do we have to go for the pre-reception nibbles, or is that there for the guests while we go get photos done??? See, I haven't a clue, it's so long since I did it the first time..... :?

We didn't get any nibbles just a champagne reception it's your own choice. Just remember one thing its your wedding so it's all your choice. Just yesterday someone told me my flip flop basket was a great idea. The same person i ran the idea by 8months ago told me it was silly & a waste of money. So my advice is please no one but the two of you.

I bought around 60 pairs in dunnes at only paid 1E each put them in a basket in the bathroom & when the ladies had enough of the heels they could just help themselves.

That's a fantastic idea!!! :-) You nearly always see the women on the dance floor with shoes kicked off and dancing in bare feet... lol
