Wow, recently engaged, excited, but totally overwhelmed ... where to start .... Help

Hey Hun, massive congrats on the engagement
Now take a deep breath it's not too scary!! So have you set a date for the wedding? I suppose the first thing is set a rough date and work out a budget. Be realistic about it, that way you can try and stick to it.
And after that it's where the fun begins, checking out venues is usually first. You'll get some honest and great opinions on here if your looking for advice on any in particular.

There's a great downloadable checklist on either the just engaged or planning guides section here...I can't remember which! But it goes through everything you'll need to think of.

Just take it one bit at a time and you shouldn't get too stressed. And any advice or help you need just shout!

Congrats ! I suppose the first thing to do is decide a date . Once that is chosen you ll find the big items like church, hotel band , photographer etc will fall into place... happy planning any questions the girls here are great

No date set. Quiet flexible but would like it to be September 2013.

I will sit down and try get some numbers over the weekend, & a realistic idea of a budget to adhere to, and what we can and can't splurge on. There are a few venues in mind, from being a guest at previous weddings, but would like to find something original, if that makes sense

Congrats and welcome to the site, you can see already how freidnly and helpful the missies will be here, for me starting off, we decided on a time of year, then things kinda fall into place, get the big things done, your number, then your venue, church and depending on the time of year, your band and photographer, best of luck planning, and enjoy it all, every minute...you'll only do it once
