No drama Hen night!!

Postby honeybeeluvvin » Wed Sep 07, 2011 2:48 am

Hi girls, I am having a bit of a hen night nightmare and would love your suggestions.. I am not really close with H2b's sisters (the whole six of them  ) and really dont want to have a traditional hen night as I just think they are a bit tacky.. if anyone came near me with an L plate or a veil i'd probably be done for assault let alone a stripper :shooting :shooting si I have decided to rent a few log cabins in Lietrim that are the grounds of a spa and hotel for the weekend so we have the best of both worlds.. however.. i dont really want to invite h2b's sisters and would just love it to be my family and friends.. what do I do?? In a way it might be a good way to break the ice, in another way it might be just setting it up for disaster at the wedding. Head is done in. :banghead

Why don't you have both - the log cabin time with your preferred choice of people and then maybe a quiet dinner with just his side of the family?

I wil be in the very same situation! Even h2b isn't close to dem. He thinks I won't enjoy my hen if I invite dem. I think I will invite dem jus to keep the peace and hopefully they won't go. My h2b suggested I say I'm goin away for a girly wk end and not call it a hen to dem. Then jus have a night out at home and invite dem for a meal and few drinks.

Your h2b's idea is a good one. Then afterwards you can just say that the girls turned it into a hen night and you totally weren't expecting it.

Yea I think i will do something like that alright, its an awful situation to be in though isnt it!! I dont think they could quite grasp the concept of it NOT being a hen-night though, if you know what i mean.. if they take the hump because they think they were'nt asked to my hen night then there will be extra drama, and if I do ask them and they dont get on with anyone then it'll be worse for the wedding!!
