Rubies Hen Report
Rubies Hen Report
We had no choice as that stage but to get a taxi (train to wexford was in an hour), so we got a lift to the nearest taxi office and luckily there was one waiting. I think I panicked for most of the journey. We actually managed to get there before the rest of the hens on the train.
5 of us met at Connolly for train to wexford, 2 more were driving and the rest were coming the next day. Got tickets and went straight to platform for train. I wasn’t taking any chances. The one thing I hadn’t thought about was that the train to wexford was just a regular commuter train with loads of people going to rosslare, but that didn’t stop us.
We arrived in Wexford unscathed thankfully. Just as we got off the train one of the girls decided she needed the loo. So, we had 2 choices, go left over the bridge to the hotel, check in etc, or go right across the road to the nearest pub for a quick one! Yes, you guessed it, the pub won. While there, Andy from the Stores, who we had organised hen bar quads called to make sure we arrived ok and to let me know our passes were in the hotel and to let us know what time to be in by to get our reserved area. We got in there just after 4pm and it was 9pm before we managed to check into our hotel. We all got changed and glammed up and decided we would go on the hunt for food. Classy ladies that we are, we ended up in Abrakebabra!! And the funniest part was that once we finished eating we were all wrecked so we just went back to the hotel! All glammed up for chippers!!
The next day was the big one and more travel mishaps. We decided to have a wander around wexford town for extra bits for that nite before we were due to go quad biking. We ended up the far end of the town with 5 mins to get back to the hotel. Ooops. I decided to try the taxi company that Andy from the Stores had recommended and what a sweetie he turned out to be. He got the mini bus to come pick us up from the village, bring us back to the hotel and then wait for us while we got our stuff together and then took us to Quad Attack. Didn’t realise how far out it was so the driver decided to just wait there for us so he let us use the bus for our shoes etc.
We were so nervous about the quads, we had nearly talked ourselves out of it. Then to make it worse when we arrived a bunch of lads skidded into the field with one of them bragging that he only crashed 3 times. We needn’t have been worried. They let you get used to the bikes and go at your own pace, which got quicker after first few mins. Really got into it and was gutted when our time was up. We are all definitely going again and I would recommend it to anyone.
So, back to hotel to clean up for dinner, which was the set menu which I was a little disappointed with as I hadn’t know that’d be the case but food was yummy all the same. It was time to go get ready for our big burlesque nite. I bought a feather bustle online from lady K especially. It was fab. We all had corsets and tutu’s and masquerade masks. Was nerve racking at first going out in public in not much more than your undies. The hotel had a bus to bring us to the club at a minimal cost per head. We all hopped out of the bus and were practically hiding behind it out of the view of the pub, that was until he decided to drive off and reveal all. We handed in the passes as were escorted through the pub and club to our own reserved area. There we partied, drank shots and just had a ball. When the club ended we were then escorted back out of the club through a separate entrance and onto bus back to hotel. We felt like VIP’s and can’t thank them enough for everything. Even the bouncers were lovely.
Next morning we all crawled to breakfast, which is so worth it, yummy smoothies followed by made to order cooked brekkie.
That afternoon we sadly caught the train home . . but we’ll be back!
The hen party was booked through the stores in wexford who I cannot recommend enough. We chose to stay at the Riverbank House Hotel and it was lovely and the staff went out of their way to look after you.
Quad Attack is in Clonroche, Wexford, great fun and suitable for everyone. . .can’t wait to go back.
If anyone is still with me I’m so sorry for it being so long, God help you when I do my wedding report.
