Theme? Sashes? What u doing?

Postby Rubies » Sat Feb 12, 2011 12:34 am

Hi girls,

I'm just wondering what you are all doing on your hen. My CBM has said she wants to buy stuff??? and was thinking of getting sashes!! But I'm not sure I really want sashes. I mean, I want us to all look like we're on a hen and am not adverse to silliness or veils etc and dares, but wonder would t-shirts or what about a theme be better?

Just wondering what everyone else thinks and what you're doing.

We're doing the all the girls in the opposite to me like if I wear a colour they'll all wear black and I gave in to my bm and we're going to have sashes I won the argument of the L plates though I think I lost on the tiara but def no flashing lights!

What we did for my hen was we had a black theme - all the girls wore black dresses and i wore a pink and black dress to stand out

My bridesmaids had organised boppers for us all to wear which made us all stand out

Going down the same road as EL with the hen - all the girls are wearing black and I'm wearing leopard print. Their accessories are all going to be gold to make it kinda black n bling iykwim! As for hen accessories, they formally told me on Thursday that I'll have ZERO input in what goes on there! I said that they were to be reasonable - plus not a lot of places let you in while you're in your hen gear so it'd be a waste of money if they buy loads of stuff....that was my argument anyways

I'd love a theme of some sort. My sisters cbm dressed her as minnie mouse and they all wore little black mickey mouse ears. Was cute. The colour thing is a great way to have a theme without putting people out money wise. Must grab cbm for a little brain storming session.

I'm liking the bling idea, love a bit of sparkle

No theme at all for us, and they (should) know thatIm too stubborn to wear any hen party themed stuff. I think we'll just be going for some sort of activity, food, drinks - it'd be my idea of a perfect hen party if no-one outside the group could guess that it was a hen!

But that might be just me... (two of my friends suggested that I dress up as a vicar and all of them dress up as brides; not sure all my friends would have white dresses)

Just to say that if everyone has a sash or something on them it can make it easier to spot eachother in clubs and pubs - found that in westport we all had flashy bunny ears and was brillaint in the clubs and pubs when they got busy as we could see eachother handy, especially on the dancefloor!!!

The hen I was on we didnt have any colour theme, but we did dress the bride up - was great craic!!!

im having a 1950's theme just thought it would be a bit of craic to dress up! i was on a hen party before where there was no sashes no hen gear what soever and it was just like any other night out ! and like the other girls are saying its wasy easier to spot everyone in a club if there is some kind of theme

I am a bridesmaid for 2 weddings in August and what I did for my brides ;) .......

One is having an 80's theme (other bm's chose that!).
I ordered personalised sashes off eBay for bride and 3 bridesmaids. They say xxxxx's Hen Party on the front and Bride to Be or Bridesmaid on the back
Then I ordered personalised badges in flourescent colours to match the theme. Most say xxxxx's Hen Party! and then I got one that says Bride to Be! and her name and Bridesmaid! Shivers etc
She will also be getting a silly tiara and veil because you have to!
I hadn't decided on boppers or hats yet but I'll have to get something.

The other bride is not having a theme as such, just girls night out.
I will get her the personalised sashes and badges in her wedding colour scheme.
I'd say she'd be only too delighted to wear flashing L plates, tiaras and anything else I can think of.
Same as above for boppers or hats but I'll get something.

The 2 brides are both my bridesmaids so nothing will be too mad, dont want to leave myself open to revenge
