Hey missies, just wondering if anybody has any experience, tips, ideas for a hen in Athlone. Is it a place worth thinking of as hen destinations as people coming from galway, louth and cork.
Any recommendations greatly appreciated!!!

hi :bluewave

I havent been to Athlone for a hen, but have had a few nights out in it, and they were fun :) If you are looking in the midlands purely for convenience for your travelling girls, Mullingar is a great spot for hens. Depends on how people are travelling, buses and trains service are much better to Athlone than to Mullingar though. Sorry not much help at all really. Good luck! :)

hey there, :bluewave

a few things for athlone, restaurants....there's olive grove, who do packages for hens, Thyme restaurant, and TopDeck are just some of the restaurants within the town. The hotels are Sheraton/radisson and the Prince of Wales hotel, think all are now doing some sort of hen packages.....cocktail making, dance and a few other things...call them up and check it out....

Then you have athe bars....again all within 10 mins of each other, there's Gerties, Suede Bar (usually have some entertainment on - possible call them for the hen ideas....then across the bridge there Sean(oldest bar in ireland) Castle inn and the snug, all very busy lively bars, and finally coppers late bar, and karma ( part of the prince- should get in free if booking with them) and Q for the nighclubs..

There's a few other activities to do around town, riverrun do packages and there's canoeing....lots of other things just have a search if your deciding to go there..........best of luck planning, hope i've helped a bit

I'm just back from a night with friends in Athlone. We stayed in the Prince of Wales Hotel, what lovely staff and hotel is grand. The nightclub attached to the hotel is called karma and if you email them they will reserve a VIP spot in the club with free pitcher of cocktails - all really nice people to deal with. We didn't venture much outside the hotel but there are loads of restaurants and bars too.
