You may have noticed that some posters have a few customised differences when compared to regular posters on this forum. For example, some users have avatars (the picture that displays under their name in the right hand column) and some have ticker countdowns (an automatic countdown to a big event usually their wedding day or baby due date).

The good news is that it only takes a matter of seconds to set up these features for your own login.

Steps to create a countdown ticker:

1. Visit any free ticker website. We like http://www.tickerfactory.com

2. Click on the wedding link. If you can’t find it, click here: http://www.tickerfactory.com/ezticker/t ... ub_type=13

3. Enter your wedding date and description. Adjust the bottom date and time so that it reflects the current time here. Otherwise you’ll be on US time! Click next.

4. Select your desired ticker ruler and click next.

5. Select your slider and click next.

6. Important: select all the code in the box labelled “bbCode” & copy it to the clipboard. On a PC, click into the box, press CTRL + A and then CTRL + C.

7. Back to Mrs2be.ie, make sure you are logged in and then click on your Profile Settings / Signature link.

8. Click on the Profile tab.

9. Click Edit Signature link.

10. Paste the copied code into the large text box. Click the Preview button.

11. Important: Usually some other ugly writing will appear above and below your ticker. If this happens, here's what to to: delete the first line of the code:

Code: Select all: [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

and also delete the last line:

Code: Select all: [/url]

12. Click Preview. If your ticker looks ok, click on the Submit button and voila!

Steps to create your Avatar picture

1. Find a picture or image of your choice. Make sure that you don’t use an image that is protected by copyright.

2. Ensure that the image does not exceed 90 pixels in height and 90 pixels in width. Also, the file size must be less than 97KB. Use a graphics editing program to achieve this. If this isn’t your forte, you probably know somebody who can help you with this. Make sure you remember where you have saved the image.

3. Next, back to Mrs2be.ie, make sure you are logged in and then click on your Profile Settings / Signature link.

4. Click on the Profile tab.

5. Click Edit Avatar link.

6. Click the Browse button and select the image that you have saved in step 2 above.

7. Click Submit. If the image is within the constraints in step 2 above, your new avatar should now display beside all of your posts.
