I did see kieth malone though so i voted for him :D :D

It's the same voting page for two separate awards. mrs2be.ie is the fourth one down on the right hand side. If you've already voted for Keith on the left hand side, that's cool, you can also vote for mrs2be.ie on the right hand side. It's not the best voting page in world but would be amazing if Keith won his category and mrs2be.ie won ours!
Best Regards,

Ciara

Hey all,

Since our original post about our shortlisting within the "Listing" category, we have since been shortlisted within another category: The Eircom Spiders Community (People's Choice) Award :bounce

This category is open to the public to vote, so we would be thrilled if you would vote for us, and spread the word!

Here's the link:
http://www.eircomspiders.ie/peoples_choice.php

We're really thrilled to be considered for this award, but we can't take all the credit! It's the Community Award, and each and every one of you have contributed to making mrs2be.ie such a great community, so thank you all.

Keith Malone's personal blog has been shortlisted for the Big Mouth (People's Choice) Award - it would be great if you could vote for him too!

Voting is open until Friday 12th November.

Even though I do love this site and Im not bashing but.... a Spider Award?

Dont you have to pay to enter? there's no transparency with the scoring and many (though not all) of the judiciary aren't really qualified to judge the quality of a website.

It lacks any credibility in my opinion. It is not a true demonstration or representation of the talent and/or innovation behind Mr2be.ie

I hear what you are saying, however, I don't believe there is such a thing as the "perfect" awards system. Somebody somewhere will always have an issue (and sometimes well founded too). Hey, many folk even criticise the movie Oscars, but many more simply love them!

This year (our first to enter) mrs2be.ie is up for two category awards and one of them is the Community award. This was FREE to enter and although the 10 shortlisted were selected by judges from probably hundreds of entries, the overall winner is being decided by a public vote. (here is the link to vote btw: http://www.eircomspiders.ie/peoples_choice.php)

Not sure I fully agree about your comments regarding the judges. Here are the judges and their various backgrounds: http://www.eircomspiders.ie/judges.php

Also, here are the judging criteria: http://www.eircomspiders.ie/judging_process.php

Just as a by the way, mrs2be.ie was also shortlisted for 3 categories and was a finalist for 1 category at The Irish Web Awards in October (which are free to enter and were judged openly by 170 judges).

Although you have reservations about the Eircom Spider awards in particular, we acknowledge and greatly appreciate your comments that the awards are not a true representation of the talent and innovation behind mrs2be.ie! :)

We look at any award system from a business and marketing perspective, i.e. we've been shortlisted and we are enjoying the additional publicity that comes with this. If being shortlisted is as far as we get, we're still absolutely thrilled.

Fingers crossed that we'll will something on 18th November!
Best Regards,

Ciara
