Hi everyone

Haven't posted on this forum before, so not sure if i'm right place, but any recommendations would be great, from either other missies or suppliers!

We're planning to start looking at photographers in the next couple of months for our wedding in 2013, and are looking for any recommendations for good photographers in the Wexford area. We would like just fairly "normal" photos if you get me, nothing too arty or posed!

Secondly, our budget is fairly tight at the moment, so we really can't afford to pay out a huge deposit. What would be the average deposit for a photographer?

Congrats on getting engaged, busy times ahead

Most photographers will have different requirements for deposits and can range from €150 up to 30% of your package price. You can initially also just book a CD package with your photographer and then get your album at a later date if you wish when there is more of a budget.

Happy New Year!
A lot of suppliers travel nationwide so don't be afraid to look everywhere!
I personally have done weddings in every county in Ireland including Wexford many a time! and love the freshness that brings to the day!

Agree with Nicky above - most of us photographers are like nomads these days, covering the whole country.
But, if you are looking for a local photographer, I would definitely suggest you check out Fergul McClean at Diamond Photography in Enniscorthy. He does some really lovely natural photography.

Awhiletogo,
Each photographer will have their own policy on travel and I couldn't speak for anyone else.

My policy is to only charge for travel where I have to incur the cost of an overnight B&B - these days this really only appies to the counties of Kerry and Donegal and probably West Cork. Anywhere else and I can drive home after finishing for the day.

Again to mention photographers have many different policies, I however do not charge for travel at all wherever you may be I also enjoy traveling around the country as it keeps it fresh and i love that!

Hey there,

Regularly cover weddings in Wexford and have covered weddings at most of the main Wexford venues.

Have a look at my site to get an idea of my work, my own style is pretty relaxed mixing informal and reportage photography with a little bit of more traditional 'posed' formal photography.

Re deposits many photographers are happy to be somewhat flexible, feel free to discuss with me !!

Just take great care when booking a photographer at the moment, many low cost deals out there but you tend to get what you pay for in terms of experience.
