:agree think this is the norm as in Bride on the left going up the aisle - we are going up together and never thought of this but would imagine I'l be on the right and B2B on the left when going up.

I thought that if your husband is going to be in the right side of the church as you're walking up then whoever is walking you up will be on your left so that you are beside your h2b when you get up there. There was a post about this a few months back and I think that's what was said.

Honestly though I don't think it really matters. Whatever way you want to do it is grand.

Yep I was on the right, priest told us to do it that way for 2 reasons, one was I would be beside hubby when I got up and it was easier for my Dad to present me to him - ease of movement for me in dress and to avoid awkward moments of my Dad tripping over it and something else about traditionally your Dad is on your left as he would traditionally carry a sword in his left hand to fight off other suitors or something like that, lucky I had no other suitors cause my Dad left the house without his sword :)

Got married in July, my father walked me up and he was on my left a lot easier all round as he doesn't have to step on or over your dress
The sword and suitors thing is from the groom you stand on his left before your married so that his right hand would be free to fight off anyone trying to stop the marriage. After your married you walk down on his right as he no longer needs to swing a sword and fight for you.

:iagree with Mallow. My poor dad almost tripped over my sister's dress when he was on his way down from the aisle coz he had to cross over. Was obviously on his mind coz he said to me months ago in a very 'casual' way that he'd been looking at posts online that said it was fine for the dad to walk on the left. I told him whatever he wanted was grand with me and you should've seen the relief on his face, bless him.

The only reason I'd want to be on the left is so that I'm closer to my side of the guests on my way up. :smileybride Makes no odds at all though. Xx
