:bluewave Were opting not to have a band (Not much i help i here you say) - but after much thought and looking at different bands just decided it was not for us so going for just the DJ - so i wouldn't be able to give you any advice or experience with Bands per say but I would like to suggest this:

Our Hotel gave us a list of bands and DJ's that had previously played at the hotel at weddings/functions and found it a great resource to get names/numbers to search online & over the phone - so maybe your hotel might have something similar? - I also like the fact that the Hotel had this list as it meant that they were happy with them to have played in their hotel enough to pass on details to future brides/grooms. Happy continued planning.

I'm not sure what style of music you like but take a look at some of the following, maybe you might like one of them as they're all quite different:

The Bentley Boys: http://www.bentleyboys.ie/

Perfect Day: http://www.perfectday.ie/

Spring Break: http://springbreak80s.com/ (we're having these as I love 80's music :clapper )

Smash Hits: http://www.smashhits.ie/HOME.html

There's another side to this. If you are a hotel bar manager, and you have 52 Friday and 52 Saturday nights to book a band for every year, it can be tough, as bar money isn't great.

So part of the incentive for the bands who are offered the bar gigs can be that they get put on the wedidng list.

Its not neccessarily an endorsement of the bands as a weding band, if you know what I mean?

Ask the banquetting manager who they would pick if it were their own wedding!

That should help!

:)

Hope it helps

M
Regards

Michael

I second these guys. Brilliant band. At a wedding in March and they played and the dancefloor was full all night. We're having them for our wedding too. Can't wait :bounce
