Help with a band Galway area

Hi everyone, I have just started planning my wedding for Sept 2013, however I am having a problem getting a good band for the reception. I really want a great band that will play pop, 80's, floor fillers etc. as my family & friends love to get up a dance and I think it's a major part of the wedding. The band I wanted are not available for our date, I have contacted two other bands, neither of which have called me back Is this the norm? I'd appreciate if anyone could recommend any good Galway bands or bands that are willing to travel (the venue is over 3 hrs from Dublin). Thanks!

Have you tried The Suite? Amazing Apples get great reviews too, and Pyramid.

We're having Tailors Twist, they're from Galway & play a bit of everything. We went to see them play at a wedding & they were very good.

We booked Tightrope. I would also recommend Weightless Astronauts, Raindance, Kif and Pyramid. I have attended gigs and weddings for all of these and they are excellent. It did take some of the bands we contacted a couple of days to get back to us. A lot of them seem to have full time jobs on top of the band and dont always get back straight away.

We got the amazing apples they are from galway and play everything from traditional to pop and whats in the charts they are playing on stage for the volvo ocean race in july can't wait to see them..!!

Keep on to the bands it can be hard sometimes to get hold of suppliers

The Astronauts were booked already. The other bands look great but they are not exactly what I am looking for. I am looking for a more cheesy pop band I'll keep researching. Thanks again

What about these guys. Was at a wedding with them before they are def 80's the even dress up THey were Great for getting peolpe on dance floor people were going crazy for them

HI there have you booked the band yet, i am getting married next September 2013.... i went with Gemini 4 they are outside loughrea went to see 5-6 bands before we decided on these guys but think they are very good let me know if you need anymore advice... eileen
