Table Plans?

Table Plans?

Postby IDoBelieveInFairys » Wed May 23, 2012 10:58 am

Hello, I'm just wondering about table plans! Are ye all doing them? Is it acceptable not to? I would love to just let people sit where they want but I know that can cause disorder, a little bit confused here really!

I will 100% be having one even though they are a pain in the bum to sort out! :punchup

My mum and dad recently went to a wedding with no table plan and it was a complete free for all! the very nearly couldn't sit together only someone was nice enough to give my mum a seat....she was nearly on the kiddies table!

Your poor mammy! That's what I would be afraid of but then I think about family who don't get on and will they wont they be able to sit beside each other and then if you but them somewhere else you can get just as much stick!! :?

Oh believe me it's unreal what petty little grudges they hold. My Mammy was all like "Oh ya don't need that I don't think. A lot of people aren't doing them now a days" I was like and a lot of people don't carry on like yours do!
I kinda guess I knew I was going to have to do one just wished there was an easier way!

Im defo doing one because there are certain people i want sitting in front of the top table and other relations you dont see to often i would rather have my close family and friends sitting up front but its really your own decision cause you do have that whole suitation of oh will such and such sit together they will sit where there put and like it haha :) I have to say i was at a cousins wedding about 2 years ago and she didnt have a table plan and it was a bit of a disaster my poor granny was about half way down the room where its someone like the grannys and the close aunts and uncles you want up close :)

We're doing a table plan but not a seating plan, it's so much easier when people have a specific table to head for and aren't trying to "keep" tables for groups of people.

Yeah we were just going to do a table plan rather than actual seats but our favours are personalised for each guest so there goes that!!!

Ha, yep that scuppers that! :) We're not doing favours so that makes it easier, we will have little facts on piece of paper about 1 or 2 people at the table, to get people talking to each other, Franc suggested it at a fair I heard him at, thought it was a great idea. Also saw these cute little things that have questions about the couple on them, personalised ones, and the guests can kind of do a quiz trying to guess the answers. Most of our guests will know each other anyway but I like these quirky ideas to get them chatting :)
