Award Winning Photography

Postby KM Photography » Fri Jul 08, 2011 12:10 pm

Hi Missies,

apologies for the blatant self promotion  but, with the weather, and 2 kids at home sick with tummy bugs I figured what the hell.

The IPPA recently announced the results for the second heat of the Photographer of the Year and I was delighted to receive 5 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze award. Four of the gold were in the field of wedding reportage and the other in classical wedding.

Link to the images below and trumpet well & truly blown :D

Well deserved Kevin - my personal favourite is the one with the bride pointing at the celebrant - a great well caught shot, I'm sure it was a case of grabbing the shot in the split second she was there.

Thanks for the feedback guys - and the sun is now shining. Not a bad end to the day !!

Mike, I love that shot as well. It was a bit lucky in that I usually stand on the grooms side of the altar (the right as you look at it) to catch the brides face in the photos. This bride however was very nervous about having her photo taken so I stayed out of her eye line. I couldn't have managed this shot from the other side. I knew she was cracking a joke so had the camera up to my eye ready to catch a laugh, but the result was way better. It also re-enforced the importance of using top quality, professional gear, as the moment was over in an instant and, without fast focus and no shutter lag it would have escaped me.

Sorry for rambling, perhaps I should start a new topic - Friday Photo Critique !!!

Have a good weekend
