Help please! wedding band - the Navan Swing Band?

Postby Eefs » Sat Dec 03, 2011 6:47 pm

Hi,

My fiance and I are having a bit of difficulty viewing bands as we're based on the opposite side of the country from where we're getting married and are working weekends. I'd really appreciate if anyone could advise about the Navan Swing Band?

Any advice about these or any bands in the Louth / Monaghan area would be very very very gratefully appreciated!

Hi Eefs, the only advice i'll give you is that you really need to go and view a few bands.I'm from Dundalk so i kept an eye on what bands were playing in pubs because i wanted to see if they could get a crowd going.I went to see a fair few and we booked the band who had the most energy and interacted with the crowd. It wasn't easy for us to get time together to see bands either,h2b works in Monaghan so we just had to work around it.I've been to a few weddings where i thought the band were great but just couldn't get people onto the floor,so my advice is try and view as many as you can out on the social scene, hope this helps :)

Hi Lorraine78, thanks a million for the post! I totally agree with you - we definitely need to see some bands. We're based in Galway but are getting married near Dundalk next year. We've gone to see a few bands in Galway when we could but they're either booked or the cost of travel for the band puts up the overall price by a lot, which is totally understandable.

It sounds like you had a really good strategy for seeing bands. We're the same as yourselves - we want an energetic band that get people of all ages on the dance floor. I heard about the Navan Swing band but I suppose I'm just looking for a little advice about it. I've confused myself at this stage!

You're welcome hun,if thats the band you're after go see them and make your mind up then.We booked Electric Avenue after seeing them play a few times and boy can they get a crowd going, all different age groups there and the floor was full all night, plus the band themselves looked to really enjoy the craic. To me,choosing your band is the hardest decision so enjoy the choosing process!!!!!!
