Its all about the money! Not impressed!

Postby IRockedTheFrock » Mon Aug 15, 2011 5:43 pm

Grrr I am so annoyed at my hotel right now and so disappointed with them! I have just had a few calls from friends who had started booking their rooms for my wedding and they told me they are being charged twice the amount I was told they would be charged when I booked my wedding! I was told there was a ''special'' rate for my guests yet they are being charged more than the room rates the nights before and after the wedding! AND I was told it'd be per room yet they are being charged per person now! And my wedding is on a Thursday so its not even a peak day! :nobadtalk :wtf I feel really betrayed and let down, as if they are sneakily trying to take advantage of my guests. I am so p'd off cuz my wedding alone is already booking out their entire hotel so they are really trying to milk it! I have already sent them an angry email so I am waiting for their response. :crackwhip I dont know how else to handle this as I cant threaten to cancel the wedding as weve paid so much into it already and there's only 4 months to go so they'd know I wont really cancel.! :ranting :crazy

hun that is terrible that they are doing that.
i had a problem with me hotel only last month two months before wedding. i did treaten to pull out - think best to do would be to call the hotel.
What i found with our hotel it was lack of communication and maybe the receptionest was unaware of the rates when your guest rang.
Put a call into the manager and go through it with him - im sure they will give you the rate which the had said at the time of booking

is there a contract that you signed? it usually has a wedding brochure with it.
id say it was a mix up. or guests might have to quote your wedding or something. hope you work things out xxxxxxx :hug2

Ring your wedding co-ordinator with the hotel and speak to him/her about it. Hopefully it is just an understanding !!!

Thanks for the advice girls.

@Donna ; Unfortunately it isnt in a contract, theres no mention of room rates in the contract. It was a verbal agreement between the manager and ourselves. The wedding coordinator was there during the conversation though.

@Sam4bob; Apparently the coordinator and manager are away for the next two days so I'll have to remain patient for now... They will hopefully take me seriously when they get my email on Wednesday though, I stressed how upset I was and the embarrassment I felt after telling my friends the rate it was supposed to be.

If you are totally backed into a corner and the venue won't budge on this, check their website - a lot of the time the guest rate isn't the best rate, and your guests might save by booking online :fingerscrossed
