Private Venues & hire Fees

Postby 2013Bridie » Tue Dec 13, 2011 12:03 am

Having looked at a couple of hotel, my H2B and I would love to have a house to ourselves (and a small wedding party, of around 60) for our wedding. We would love something really relaxed, but with a bit of elegance. Does anyone know of any country houses (anywhere in Ireland, we are open to anywhere at this stage) that does not have a mega hire fee,as lot of the lovely places cost alot before you even look at dinner. We have seen the millhouse, slane (who dont have a hire fee) and Horetown House, Wexford (Their 3000 fee for the day, which really streches us). We would love some feedback if anyone has gone down this route of wedding. Thanks a million. :happyfriday

Hi ya don't know if it's exactly what you are looking for but Leixlip manor is exclusively yours for the day and it's a really beautiful house and lovely gardens. The rooms are fabulous real old style!! As far as I know they don't have a hire fee, based on different wedding packages!!

Another one is Boyne Hill House in Meath. It's a lovely venue and the grounds and garden are really nice for photos also. There is an old house there thats yours for the weekend of your wedding. I'm not sure what the hire fee is or if there is even one but the manager is a lovely lady so she should be able to help you out.

:happywave Hi

Have a look at the Mustard Seed in Adare, Limerick. I've heard great things about it.

hi 2013Bridie, I had looked at the same venues as you mentioned and it took me months before I finally chose my venue, clonabreany house in crossakiel co meath (10 mins from kells) I cannot recommend this venue enough. Its not just the venue itself thats amazing but the staff were the best service Ive ever experienced and im not just saying this cause it was my wedding it was also the feedback I got from guests. I dont know what your budget is but for me to hire this venue I settled for a mid week wedding. hth and good luck with the search :)

Thank you so much for all the replys, I have looked into all of the suggestions. We still have'nt found somewhere yet, still trying to convince my mother that it's ok to have a wedding not in a hotel. I'd love to hear how your wedding went in clonabreany house. It looks amazing.
