rocky type band...????

Postby ivorybride2012 » Wed Oct 26, 2011 12:16 am

:bluewave

myself and my H2B have VERY different music styles (im all RnB/pop and he is heavy metal :yikes2 ) i had huge difficulty trying to organise a band as we are getting marrid bank hol weekend in aug and all the local bands were prebooked for ages :-( after scouring the net and getting online agents to send us out details of bands etc we decided on a rocky type and they were free on our date :cool (they are actually a wedding band) as that is the one style of music we DO agree on :happyfriday . this band are doing band and dj for us and travelling from Dublin for 1600. the only problem is..... i have never seen them play..... they have an online page where they have a melody of songs and a wedding video or something (not sure if im allowed post the link as that would be advertising but let me know and i will post it) and i think they sound very like the commitments. its a four piece all male band. they are called the soundmen. we have booked but havent paid a deposit yet as the man i was speaking to was really sound and said whenver im in dub to just give him a text and we can meet up to pay a deposit. we have been corresponding via email and he ensured me only last week my date is secure. so anywayyyyyy...... has anyone seen these at a wedding before? are they good performers. will my older guests not enjoy the music (they did say they cover a wide genre) ooohhhhh nervous.com

Hi IvoryBride2012,

Well done picking something that you were both happy with, considering your different musical tastes! And that price is brilliant value too, so that's a great start.

Maybe when you meet up to give the deposit, it might be a good opportunity to check them out at a wedding - even meet up at a wedding to give the deposit. If you get to see them playing a variety of tunes, you won't be worried at all.

Do you know, I see as many oldies up dancing to Chelsea Dagger, as I see the young up for Mack The Knife, so it will probably all be fine!

Sounds great!

One thing though - no harm to prioritise getting a deposit down, just in case, as the August Bank Holiday weekend is a very busy one. Bestter safe than sorry etc.!

Good luck with the plans

@Jonathan, howerya! Its great to see you on mrs2be, you're exactly the kind of helpful guy the missies love to have around!

You're gonna fit right in!
