Re: Tropical Storm
Sorry never heard of them, but if a friend recommended them, I would say they are probably decent, just find out where they heard them. If they dont have their prices online, the best thing to do is to ring or email them for a quote! That way you can also check that they are available on your date!

Re: Tropical Storm
Hi mrs BK - I have them booked! They are brilliant!!!!! No idea what the other band is like. They are pricey but worth it. We booked them about a year ago and almost all the July dates were booked by then!

We had the Manila Strings for our wedding and they were fantastic. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE was asking where the hell we found them - they loved them so much!! Can't recommend highly enough to you. We didn't find them expensive at all. They were the cheapest out of 25 or more bands that we enquired after. The volume level was excellent as well. Not too loud - just right! Which suited us and our crowd very well. Oh, by the way you having them for drinks reception or the dancing? We had them for the dancing part. They are just lovely guys. We had seen them play several times before we booked them as they play quite often in my now hubby's local (now OUR local! as have now moved in together there!). Amos (the booking agent) is very helpful as well. They are are sister band to Tropical Storm, for whom Amos is also the booking agent. Any other info let me know or PM me!

Re: Tropical Storm
thanks ladies
i wanted them for the drinks reception as i wanted a bigger band for the dancing. they are really popular and are booked up! i'd love them but at least the hotel are giving us music for the drinks reception so i don't mind too much. if you can get them then i'd say go for it!

Try asking if the Manila Strings are free as well on your date. They're as good as their sister band. Same idea i.e. 3 lads all play and sing in fab harmonies. Only difference is Manila Strings have a guitar, double bass and percussion in the form of bongo drums and a kind of square 'beat box' (not really sure how else to describe it) - have never seen one before – it's a kind of drum beaten by hand. Whereas Tropical Storm have 2 guitars and a double bass with no percussion. They both have sample videos up on their agent's website http://www.classactpromotions.ie. Manila Strings also play acoustic as far as I'm aware i.e. for drinks reception (they must do, as I know they do drinks receptions too). Sure ask away! Also if you check out that website there's dates up of where both bands are playing over the next few months (in the Dublin area really) if interested in going to see them.
