Postby 2010Bride » Mon Feb 08, 2010 8:03 pm

Right, I think it is outrangous money for a wedding cake, that no-one will eat. I am looking at getting my cake in Mark and Spencers. Any of ye ordering your cake from Mark and Spencers? I would love to see photos of other B2B who have gotton there cake there. It is working out at 91 punds for 3 tier cake

We were orginally going with M&S cake but then we decided to go with a different design. I'd say go for it!! All you need is a few flowers and ribbon and its good to go. You can always try it out before the day if you've any parties coming up!

Im going for the M&S fruit cake. My sister had it at her wedding and it was lovely. I'm going to order it in ivory and I ordered ribbon for it on ebay at the weekend. If you look out as well they sometimes do 3 for 2 offers so would be cheaper again!

Hi Toot,
When you say you ordering your cake, can you order it in ireland, or is it just up the north.
I would love to see a photos of it. WOuld it be possible to PM a photo of the cake, if not, not to worry.

As far as I know you can only get fruit in the south but if you go to the north you can get maidera and chocolate etc. I live quite close to Derry so was gonna go in there to get mine. I dont actually have any pics of it on this computer but will see if I can dig some out! I was actually in M&S in Derry a few weeks ago and they had some of the cakes there to buy and they look just the same as the pic

No problem! You can get cutting bars in M&S as well which are the same as the cake. If you wanted you could get one of those first to see if it tastes OK to you...Any excuse for cake!!

The M&S wedding cakes on their website are lovely but it seems only available in the north, we only have the bog standard fruit down here, had a look at them recently, very flat cakes with a bit of old fashioned piping on them. They would look better plain but I didnt think they were good value, if you wanted something that ordinary anyone family member used to making christmas cakes could come up with better for less money.
