1st dress fitting

Postby TGR » Sun Oct 16, 2011 4:44 pm

Tried on my wedding dress for my first fitting on Wednesday :D It just needs a little taking in on the bust line, and the bottom needs to be hemmed and a bustle put in. Biggest shock came when I went to the counter to pay for the alterations: CAD340- that's about 240 euro  !!!!! That's basically a third of the cost of my dress. I asked the sales lady where she could lower the price and all she said was that if her boss were there, she would have probably charged me more!!!
Ugh, so depressing when I think about how much money I'm spending on a dress I'm only ever going to wear once. I even called my h2b to tell him how much I had just paid for alterations because I felt so guilty and, bless him, he said I was just being silly.

Ye they dont tell you when you are buying the dress but some bridal shops will include the price into the dress or like you after but they can range from €150 on. They never tell you this when you are buying the dress. Thats why you should always ask first when buying the dress

Ya they never tell you the alterations cost so much. The cheapest one I found is €120 for my dress. But you never really think it's gonna cost so much. The only thing is if you like the dress now you'll love it when it fits you perfect. Dont feel guilty hun :nope
