Hey ladies, having my first wedding related panic right now - and its a big one.

Getting married 7 weeks from today and I have NO bridesmaid dresses!!! I ordered them from House of Brides 13 weeks ago and paid extra for rush delivery and I rang them this evening and they haven't even received them from the designer!!!! I have asked them to contact the supplier to see what the story is so hopefully I will get something positive from them!

I could cancel the order on the basis of the goods not being received in time but it will take 30 days for the refund and I don't know how in the name of God I am going to get 3 bridesmaid dresses (size 14, 18 and 22 in 7 weeks!!!) Any help or advice appreciated

Hi there, i ordered mine from dessy in march and still no sign. getting married a few days before you!!! they are due in tomorrow but i was told by shop that the designers in usa are experiencing a 4 week delay!! You still have time so dont panic.. get a definitive answer and if they are gonna be more than a week, cancel maybe and have a look in monsoon, debenhams etc.. doesnt help but i do sympathise with u xx

Did they give any reason for the 4 week delay if you don't mind me asking?
I'm a bit worried because they originally said I would have them mid-July and when I didn't have them at the end of July, I contacted them and they said I'd have them early in August.
If they could just mail me and say, look there's been a delay you will definitely have them by X date, I would feel so much better. I'm just terrified I wont be able to get anything off the peg for my size 22 girl at this late stage!

Oh girls i feel for ye. I ordered my bm dresses 4 weeks ago from house of brides and ppl were like why are u ordering them so early but id say by your experiences i just about ordered them in time!!! I know it will work out for you both dresses will arrive and look fabulous. Il keep my fingers and toes crossed for yee x

Moses28, They gave no reason at all but at this stage mine are 7 weeks late and its not good enough really, especially when your given no explanation whatsoever, i put pressure on the shop and the called designer on wed but with House of brides i really dont know who u could contact. Do you think they will need lots of alterations when they arrive??? If not you could nearly wait a couple more weeks while all the time looking in the shops the girls mentioned xxx

Pick back-up dresses off the shelf (monsoon, debenhams, coast, bhs (bhs have lots of different styles for diffferent shape bm's) just in case they don't arive. That way you will have panic dresses lined up, and line a seamstress up to do alterations - at least that way on the week of wedding they can have dresses if yours have not arrived.

I would ring them again and chase, and phone designer and ask to speak to manager. threathen to bad mouth them publically and I think you could evn threaten a small claims court because they are breaching contract. at the very least you should get your dresses plus compensation - dont accept just the dress, make sure you get something ... FIGHT THEM!!!

I am fuming on your behalf. That's disgraceful.

I got my BM dresses on sexyher.co.uk - they were fab and came within 2 working days. THey also do made to order (just send in measurements) but they take 4-6 weeks. They're very nice though so you could ring them and they'd probably get them done sooner for you.
