About to order dress online...any advice

Postby BluefishJD » Mon Nov 14, 2011 8:00 pm

Hi all right basically the B2B has found "the" dress and it's on lightinthebox (for a great saving compared to bridal boutique here!!) I have posted here before about this site and the feedback was good but before we take the plunge any last minute advice...suppose from the positive previous posts I know I shouldn't worry but sure you know yourself!

:bluewave she is definitely opting for the online option as I said great saving's compared to what she has seen in the shops but just apprehensive about buying online - she has gone to a few different bridal shops here (I joined her this weekend to one...what an experience!) you know just to try on shapes/styles and to make sure the one she liked online was comfortable to wear and suited her - so it proved a good excercise to try it on here first as she got good idea of style, weight and knowing that yes it was the "one" (There was a moment in the shop - as she appeared from behind the curtain the whole shop (Which was busy due to promotion) just stood still for like split 3 seconds..as all the heads turned to look, you could hear a pin drop so she knew it was the one, so to speak, as in it was the style/shape etc etc that she fell in love with, - they didn't have the particular dress in white - only ivory so it was a no go anyway)

You have scared me though - 6 months!! :yikes2 :yikes2 we don't have 6 months - will have to check out the shipping/delivery times on the site - fingers crossed there won't be any issues - so glad to hear you had a positive experience purchasing online hopefully ours will be smooth enough - now have to check the delivery times I thought (from other posts) that 6 weeks between processing/tailoring and shipping was about right! Am I wrong? any other missies with experience from Lightinthebox delivery...please do share...

:bounce :bounce It's done the dress has been ordered - did a little more research on reviews / comments etc and accessed the live chat section on the site who was very helpful - confirmed contact numbers and contact emails and as simple as a click the dress has been bought - great excitement :bounce :bounce shall update when it arrives and give a full run down of overall experience and of course the dress itself :bounce :bounce

I got my wedding dress and my bridesmaids dresses off Lightinthebox and could not fault them, we had to get them taken in as I ordered a couple of sizes too big to be safe and brought them to a dress make to get them altered and she couldnt get over how well they were made, she said that she saw dresses from bridal shops and they werent made as well. So go for it. I got our boleros off light in the box as well.
So in summary, I can highly recommend them!

That's excellent news and great feedback will pass on to herself and hopefully that will put her mind at ease - with it now ordered (from LITB) she can't wait for it to come actually here is one for you cheeky were you waiting long? - from the site I reckon it would be 5-7weeks wait did you have something similar or longer? - also glad to here response from the dressmaker as I know she said she wanted to get straps and obvious alterations so will be going to a local dressmaker too as i said this has put our minds at rest - cheers and thanks for posting.
