Early days for us but so far h2b has been really involved. We both have different interests, skills and contacts so planning on using them. He's a chef so will be really involved when it comes to negotiating with the hotel and planning the menu. He doesn't have much of an interest in colour schemes, invitations or flowers so ill look after them and just get his ok before final decisions are made. Likewise, I've no interest in cars and when I suggested using family cars, h2b decided to look into some contacts that he has. I also don't fancy spending money on a cake and toyed with the idea of doing it myself which put the fear of God into h2b so he's now going to ask an old colleague to make one for us.
I'm also really conscious of the fact that it's his day too and that his personality and interests come across on the day as well as mine. One idea I had was a football teamed table plan and when I showed this to h2b his face lit up and he started to come up with loads of ideas on how to expand on this. I think he really appreciated the fact that i had been thinking of him.

Totally agree that its "our day" but you cant force a guy to be involved either!
One of my friends has blazing rows with her fiance because she says he doesnt show enough interest but its just not his thing! I dont think its fair to push someone on it.

My h2b has been what i'd call averagely involved! He met with hotel originally with me obviously and we discussed all the supplier choices together but I tip along and book things and do things that i know he wouldnt be interested in at all! We have a mild theme and i've been on to a graphic designer about table plan and names and he knows i've been mailing her but hasnt asked any questions.

He did a lot of HM research (we both love travelling and our holidays!) and he was phoning around about groomsmen suits today. He couldnt give a continental about table decorations or favours or any of that stuff though because he just wouldnt notice it at others weddings unless it is something very unusual.
Bluefish i think its great that you are so involved but you are defo an exception! HAving attended thirtysomething weddings in the past couple of years you have really broken the mould!

In a nutshell, he is involved in the large things but the smaller stuff is looked after by me and we're both perfectly happy with that!
