we had a band and DJ. it was ideal for our crowd.
the band was the Black Knights they were fantastic, they played all the usual stuff had all ages up.
then teh DJ took over about about 12.30 he played til almost 3. and had the younger (and a few of the not so young ) dancing til the end.

I dont know, it very much depends on guests and the makeup of people.
Very mixed works well. Older is more suited to both and younger can work better because they just wanna get to the dj part of the night anyway. I love bands, Springbreak are great, Goodfellas are excellent and theres a lot more great ones but bad ones also so choosing a good one is important - and the very same with djs...

A dj will do as good a job, and will have people dancing all night. The good things is that the music can be adapted exactly to the crowd and we research the crowd before the wedding day so we know who were playing to, giving you and your guests a completely personal service.

mrsmcd2be wrote:Personally I'd have both but it seems that DJ's work well on their own according to some Missies here on this tread and would definitely bring the costs down considerably. We're having Springbreak and our friend is doing DJ after as a wedding present so we're cutting a bit of the costs on DJ.
