Beware when purchsing invitations off print websites

Postby mrsmccormack2b » Fri Oct 14, 2011 12:32 pm

Hey ladies, just said I'd make you's aware that if you're purchasing invitations off a well known printing website that the envelopes they supply do not always match the size of the invitation, we bought a few as we ran out of our invitations & couldn't get the same from the suppliers again.

When they came in the post the envelopes provided (free ones) were C5 (half A4) but our invitations are much slimmer thank A4 width and it makes the invitations look really unprofessional!!

I emailed the website & was told that I'd need to buy the matching envelopes & that the free ones supplied are just "standard" however when I went onto the website the matching envelopes are C5 also!!

Just in case anyone gets loads of invitations & the wrong envelope size comes with them, they dont' really have a come back!!

yeah that is why i chose to buy nicer more expensive looking envelopes of a different supplier. i assume were are talking about the same well known print website. i loved the invites themselves but felt the envelopes provided-both the matching ones and the free ones kinda cheapened them. even with the new envelopes it still worked out a lot cheaper than other supppliers though!

I was wondering alright cuz I had bought 10 cheaper ones from that company and I was writing them the last night and it took an awful lot of bloody hassle to get them into the envelope!!

I got our envelopes from www.envelopes.ie (think they have a uk site aswell - could be cheaper?) The more you get quantity wise the price per one drops so I designed my invites in such a way that when it comes around to the "Thank You" cards I can use same sized envelopes by buying extra at the start:) Also delivery, service and quality of the envelope was excellent.

I got all my paper and envelopes from here and they are a very high quality and I am very pleased with them.

I think postage was a bit to Ireland (but I got whole reams of paper and cards, so it worked out ok), so maybe have them sent to a UK address if you want to do it that way, or you could ask them for cheaper postage if it is just envelopes you are looking for.

i got my envelopes from diywedding.ie. got lovely white textured envelopes and it really makes a difference. they are a bit bigger than the invites but when the invitation, rsvp card&envelope and information sheet about accomediation and directions in included it looks perfect.
